RKW Rationalisierungs und Innovationszentrum der Deutschen Wirtschaft e. V. German Centre for Productivity and Innovation. The company was originally established in 1921, and focuses on promoting productivity and innovation in order to improve competitiveness and working conditions. Main target groups are SMFs. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour, RKW is cooperating with federal government, employers’ associations and trade unions. The professional profile covers managerial, labour and social issues, Mid-sized business financing, EU enlargement, employment, work and organization (e.g. lifelong learning, e-learning), as well as innovative technologies in services and production (knowledge based technologies) are central problem areas. RKW is member of EANPC European Association of National Productivity Centres and experienced in transnational projects. RKW participated in many European Projects in the framework of LEONARDO, ADAPT, SPRINT, INTERPRISE, TACIS and EQUAL. At the same time RKW helps in building up sound market economy structures in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, because reliable basic economic conditions and a uniform “language” facilitate the successful development of business relations both for German and for foreign companies. They are certified as meeting to the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for the following activities: Projects, cooperation projects, professional dialogue activities, publication, training and information for SME’s, development of expertise and services for the RKW network. RKW will bring the experience of working with SMES in the target sectors. It will also bring its experience of producing e-learning materials. Its membership of EANPC will provide a European dimension important for both the dissemination and exploitation aspects of valorisation.
