The Greta du Velay is a regional group of 21 public educational establishments (Ministry of national education). Certified ISO 9001, it employs specialised trainers to set up internal or external training, graduating or qualifying in : audio-visual, catering-cooking, tourism, building, healthcare, vocational integration, rural development, environment, services, languages, and industry. It co-ordinates a network of open learning centres in rural places. Around 300,000 training hours are delivered each year. Its transversal expertise includes: training needs analysis, customisation of training, course design, community development, tutors training, and e-learning development.The Greta du Velay is a member of the Greta network that gathers 288 of them (making this network one of the main training provider in France). It is also member of the local network of Greta Auvergne, and participate actively in the CReATIF network for the promotion of public internet access.
The Greta du Velay has developed an expertise with target groups facing specific difficulties. For example, it has implemented employment initiatives (e.g. to facilitate the participation of women and the young who are to the job market). It has participated to the Leonardo AITO, to facilitate the integration of immigrants (among other results is the production of free learning material - http://citim.velay.greta.fr - about work legislation). It is the French promoter and the disseminator of the European charter for social and digital inclusion. It also manages a resource centre for inclusion (http://diese.net).
Greta will be a key partner in this project, bringing the experience from the AITO project, technical expertise in terms of the production of e-learning materials and associated support mechanisms, contacts with target groups/sectors to assist in the valorisation activities as well as using its contacts in other Gretas and the Ministry of Education for both dissemination and mainstreaming of project results. In this project, it will also be responsible for the French valorisation activities.
